Kaiju No. 8

Kaiju No. 8 is a modern action hit that subverts the giant monster genre by focusing on the "clean-up crew" of a world constantly besieged by colossal threats. It blends high-octane battles with a story of second chances.

Kafka Hibino is a 32-year-old man who failed to join the Defense Force and now works disposing of Kaiju corpses. After a small Kaiju enters his body, Kafka gains the ability to transform into a powerful humanoid monster, designated as Kaiju No. 8. He must now hide his secret while finally joining the Defense Force to fulfill a childhood promise to his friend, Mina Ashiro.
