Natsume's Book of Friends
Natsume's Book of Friends remains a cornerstone of the shoujo and josei genres. The story follows Takashi Natsume, a teenage boy who inherited his grandmother Reiko's "Book of Friends"—a ledger containing the names of spirits (yokai) she defeated and bound to her service. Alongside his self-proclaimed bodyguard, the powerful and cynical spirit Nyanko-sensei, Natsume embarks on a quest to return these names and find his own place in both the human and spirit worlds.
