Billy Bat
After years of being the "lost masterpiece" of Naoki Urasawa (Monster, 20th Century Boys), Billy Bat is finally seeing its official English-language debut. Abrams ComicArts, under its Kana imprint, is scheduled to release Volume 1 on June 2, 2026. This 20-volume historical conspiracy thriller is being published at a rate of four volumes per year, making it one of the most anticipated physical manga releases of the decade.
The story begins in 1949 with Kevin Yamagata, a Japanese-American comic artist who discovers his hit character, a detective bat, may have been unintentionally plagiarized from a mysterious symbol he saw in Japan. His quest for the truth spirals into a millennia-spanning epic involving the JFK assassination, the moon landing, and a supernatural entity that has influenced human history since the dawn of time.
